Careers in Local Government

ALGWA (WA) is represented on the Minister for Local Government and Regional Development's Advisory Committee on Women in Local Government.

This Committee is actively working towards increasing the number of women in senior decision-making roles in local government. Some activities have included the promotion of local government as a career choice, the development of guideines for recruiting for diversity for local government, and the establishment of a Mentoring Program.

ALGWA actively seeks to partner with other organisations, such as the WA Local Government Managers Association (LGMA), in hosting career development events for women employed in local government.
